the idea behind this unusual project, called ‘fram-menti vitali’, came from the need to give the building a strong identifying feature in order to create a unique location made up of fragments in which the key players are the dynamic minds of its stylists and designers. out of this uniqueness springs an intervention in which the slanted lines are compacted into a design that is organic and self contained. externally the building appears to be a fragmented but compact structure that hides an extraordinary interior. from the entry route the visitor perceives the architectural complex as a place to explore, where once you cross the threshold of the entrance to the garden the building opens up through its floor to ceiling windows to reveal its beating heart. both inside and outside of the building the lighting aims to enhance the architectural design using variations of light that emphasize the structures, creating situations in which, by means of the light, the architecture becomes the star of the landscape. for the interior it was decided to create a lighting system that is the least invasive possible, in which the light fittings are not conceived as individual elements but as elements integrated into the architecture through horizontal beams of light with vertical blades of light, produced with the 094 system, using c2 and c1 led profiles. in the showroom on the ground floor angled light lines are arranged in a way that follows the concept of the building. within these lines the choice of the 094 system has given the customer the ability to increase, decrease, or move the projectors depending on the settings and situations that are to be created. the spotlights can be moved or increased and the band of light directed as required. the square system suspensions in the first floor offices have been positioned obliquely in order to reflect the fragmented effect of the building. the only decorative elements granted to the project are the lenticchia lamps suspended in the triple-height stairwell, where the light fittings are positioned to fit between one flight of stairs and the next, so that they form a dynamic sculpture that draws the astonished gazes of those who enter.
